Nothing more boring than to hang on the beach. The sun is shining, you can`t either read or write, nor think. You can't work, and working is what makes live useful. Gnats search their victims, the sand beaches are crowded by people wearing disadvantageous pieces. The ocean reflects the sun, making you blind.

[On the beach]

Walking barfoot on the beach between land and sea: the sand bites the feet, than the water returns, crossways over your feet, clear, colorless, but with smal pieces of foam, pausing a moment, returning the other direction, crossways over your feet, recollecting its small pieces of foam, pausing a moment, than the water returns...

Cold water, but soon I don't feel my feet any more.

The ripples in the sand, of different size. A small moment, the sand resists the foot, than disintegrates. Another spot, hard ripples, nearly painful to walk on it. Another spot, wet sand, glueing, holding you. Another spot, soft, warmed by the sun. Another spot, hard, without ripples. Different colors of sand, with a marbled structure.

The waves rise, with a top of foam, then crashes, now the back of the wave, without foam, is on top, now the wave roll over the beach, now the wave disappears, now the wave is sucked back by the sea.

At night, a wave, small flashes induced by microorganisms and the pressure of the wave. They live also in the sand where I stand. Walking on light.

[On the beach]

Friendly summer, with the sun light on my skin, hugging me. All the people on the street, moving their brown bodies, hardly covered. Love and sex in the air.

[On the beach]

Love and sex, Bacardi feeling. I could write an essay about the commercial exploitation of the summer, but I am too tired.

[On the beach]

The sea: a surface, but deceptive, groundless, possibly all-consuming. You can travel on it, but only with the permanent aid of a machine (the ship), with permanent effort. Otherwise, you disappear, as if you had never existed: just an empty surface, the sea. Who knows what may be under the surface? Fish, shells, but why not people? big cities? entire empires? Houses where the mermaids live.

[On the beach]

Sharks and whales and shells and architheutis and rays and plankton and jellyfishs and picassofishs and corals, sweet melody.
