„Amazone des Polyktet“ ["The Amazone of Polyktet"], 15.7.1999, 20x30 cm. Pheidias, Polyktet, Kresilas and Phradmon had a contest making a statue of a dying amazone warrior. The results have not survived, but we still have roman marble copies of the original bronze works. For example, the so-called kapitolinian amazone, and this amazone is shown by my drawing.

"green swimsuit", from 18.-19.7.1999. A green swimsuit, although it appears to be only black and white.

Untitled, 27 + 31.7.1999. A variation of the "waiting"-picture.

A smaller scan (15 KB instead of 83 KB, 580x404 instead of 1159x807, which means this version will fit most screens), if you prefer.
Untitled, 9 + 10.8.1999, 30x20 cm.

On 24.8.1999, I finished some tilings with graphics of Lyapunov exponents of iterated systems. I put these tilings on an own Lyapunov tilings page.

"Drachenjägerin" ["Dragon Hunter"], 17 & 20.9.1999, 30x20 cm. Some sketches for this picture:

I also wrote a short dragonhunter story (in german, with four additional pictures).

Friday, 19.11.1999 (funny date), after working, shopping, reading and playing a computer game, I drew nine pictures round midnight. The first one is the following:

This and the following pictures is 30x20 cm. It is a collage consisting of different kinds of paper, pencils, black and white ink, and a computer generated and printed pattern. The title is "Jan Thor". I chose the title because the picture is connected with so many of my main themes (the smoking barfoot woman, the green shirt, a marbled structure, a computer generated image, the Sibylle hair, a collage), so this could be considered as a kind of summa.

This one, the second one of the pictures I drew on friday, is titled "Dakota Variation Nr. 3".
Variation Nr. 0 is a picture in a catalogue for leather wear which made its way to my mail box.
I used this picture to built Variation Nr. 1, a version built with the aid of the computer, in which I removed the text lines and added some more fetishistic underwear. I called this version "Idaho", because the name "Dakota" (the name of the brand of the pants) reminded me of "Idaho", and I liked both names for their indian sound.
Variation Nr. 2 is the same picture, but now hand-made instead of computer-manipulated, drawn in a rather realistic manner. I liked the smile of the picture, and so I re-did the picture (the current, third version), drawing the smile in a manner a little bit more abstract, comic-like. I added the lines "in einer 3/4 Stunde gezeichnet" ("drawn within 3/4 of an hour"), a little bit showing off, but driven away by the mood of the moment.

The last seven pictures of friday are dedicated to the seven cardinal sins [die sieben Todsünden]. Here they are alltogether, from left to right: Yearning, Thrift, Lust, Taste, Courage, Self-Confidence, Melancholy (Sehnsucht, Sparsamkeit, Lust, Genuß, Mut, Selbstbewußtsein, Melancholie).
The names of the seven sins are, of course, not perfectly accurat the traditional ones, but ironic: I don't think that Voluptuousness is really a sin, and I think that it's sometimes difficult to distinguish between pride and arrogance, and defining arrogance as a cardinal sin serves only to keep people small, I don't think that gluttony is still a problem today that can be understood in the terms of "sin" and "virtue", and it's not more a problem than all the anorexian girls, envy is a natural reaction of the poor and not-so-well-gifted and can't be seperated from yearning, anger and courage is needed to be able to change things that need to be changed, and melancholy is certainly no sin at all.
I chose seven women to represent the seven cardinal sins because it fits with the old-fashioned allegorian habit to represent every abstract concept in the world of the ideas with a woman's body, and because sin is traditionally associated with the female (as virtue is associated with the male), and because I prefer to draw woman (less edges to draw). The girl that represents the Taste/Gluttony maybe suffers under anorexia, the Lust is a porn star with obviously fake breasts, and so on.
I made larger copies of my two favourites: Courage and Self-Confidence. Here they are:

I occasionally receive e-mails alluding to the "Do you want to see me without the shirt?"-series. Recently, someone sent me a mesage without a body, just the subject line "Take off your undies". This inspired me to draw the first picture. Since I wasn't very content with the result, I did a second version, "Take Off Your Undies II", with a more abstract treatment of the drawn surfaces. I thought about japanese woodcuts, and therefor I drew a third, pseudo-japanese version. All three pictures from 10.3.2000.

I made several images of a girl in briefs around 10.-20.4.2000, shown on a seperate web page, the Briefs Picture Collage Page (the same girl is also employed at the Kisekae Java Applet Page).
