The discussion between Sigdrifa and Sir John is just a lightweight example of the differences in their respective upbringings, and not meant as a serious discussion of the shortcomings of the Biblical creation myth (in fact, although I’m rather skeptical towards the religions which refer to this creation myth as a holy text, I kind of like the Jehovist’s parts of Genesis, and I would agree with John that he’s just explaining it badly – after all, he’s just a knight, not a trained theologian). I provide a far more serious discussion here (in German).
